Dr. Grillo and her staff are exceptional! They take such great care of my dogs and I recommend anyone who lives by this vet office to check them out. I’m super picky about where I take my dogs for their care, and VCA Wingate is fantastic. 10/10!

This is our new vet for our dog in Colorado. They were very helpful for the transition to Colorado - and what we need to know for our dog’s health. Very friendly - and they offer appropriate tech visits as applicable to help keep expenses down. Very friendly. Clean facility. Glad we found them.

We took our two dogs to see the doctor in January/February 2024. In September 2024 we took them to the vet to get a blood test for a Heartgard medication. After that, I asked for a prescription to get that medication somewhere else. I only got a prescription for 6 pills and so I called back and asked to get a prescription for 12 pills because, as everyone knows, it is cheaper to buy in bulk. Someone called me back at 4:20 in the evening on October 1 and promised to instruct the techs to issue that exact prescription. However, the next day Danielle texted me back saying that, because the doctor saw my dogs more than 6 months earlier, she will only issue a prescription for 6 pills.

When I asked her to investigate who called me back the day before and promised a 12-pill prescription, she flat out refused implying that I was lying.

So now, I have the following observations:

(1) How is it ever a good idea to suggest to a client that he or she is lying? Why not tell that client that you will try to find the person that he or she spoke with? Better yet, why not actually investigate since I was able to provide both the date and time when the call was made? There couldn't have been that many people who were in a position to make this call. Since I am not in the habit of lying I find this accusation very upsetting.

(2) What would happen if I were to ask for another prescription in the beginning of 2025 during appointment with the doctor? Would I only get another 6 month prescription because my dogs' blood tests would be old? Does that mean that I HAVE to schedule blood tests and doctor appointments at the same time if I want a 12-month prescription? This has never been a requirement at any other vet. This feels like I am being ripped off by being forced to choose between scheduling an impromptu doctor's appointment or by having to pay more for the same medication. This is especially upsetting since this organization already charges an arm and a leg.

(3) if my dogs' doctor appointment happened more than 6 months ago, why wouldn't they tell me about the need to schedule another appointment in advance so I could have scheduled one appointment covering the blood tests and the vet exams for my two dogs? At the very least, I would have saved time.

We got an appointment same day, they did a careful history and exam, gave reassurance. Did not pressure us into unnecessary testing or treatment.

This Hospital is where I prefer to take my baby. They are expensive, but they are transparent and always make time to fit me in when I have an urgent situation. Staff is always friendly and courteous

I have boarded my dogs with VCA several times, but never at a location that wasn't my primary vet. I was very pleased with the experience and they asked even more in depth questions than a vet normally would at first intake which was very comforting as I was leaving my dogs and going a fair distance away. This is not a criticism of VCA Wingate since I know it's an IT issue that plagues their whole company, but I wish they had electronic information and records sharing because it could make intake faster which would mean that the wonderful staff could do more with their talents and kindness (man, do my boys love them) than just type the same info that 4 other locations have recorded from me before.
