What's not to love about Aragon Active?
Firstly they are set in the most tranquil of locations. The farm-house turned lodge offered brilliant views and was the comfiest of accommodations where solo travelers don't pay any supplements for single rooms (just how amazing is that?).

Secondly the owners and our lovely hosts, Lucy and Simon prepared tasty yet nutritious meals from king sized breakfast (Bircher muesli, home grown berries, home-made bread amongst other things) to packed lunch (yummiest sandwiches & cake) to Michelin star 3 course dinners (adapted to everyone's dietary requirements - bless them!) - you'll definitely surpass the daily quotient of 30 plants a week by a long stretch 😉

I had signed up for the snow-shoeing week and I was left sated to my heart's content at being able to hike in snow and get the most stunning views of the snowy peaks of the Spanish Pyrenees. Our wonderful hosts made sure to ensure we would avoid any bad weather spells (I think they are low-key magicians) by planning each day's hike painstakingly. They even moved our rest day to the end of the week so as to ensure we had maximum fun in the snow.
The best part of the hikes wasn't just the snow but our very knowledgeable guide who would whip out a whiteboard (I'm not joking) and explain to us the geography & geology of the areas we were hiking. I still don't know how he managed to spot the camouflaged chamois across the valley with his naked eyes.

On our rest day we were treated with a geology lesson by Lucy and then an interesting tour of Janovas and Ainsa with Simon (I don't know how they manage to be experts at everything but my statement above about them being magicians stands ;-))

I'm already planning my next trip back to the sweetest home away from home 🙂

I really enjoyed my Spanish course.
Lucy and Simon are wonderful hosts, they have converted their home to a very high standard, comfy beds, excellent shower and stunning views out to the Pyrenees. The food Simon prepared was wonderful- healthy, tasty and locally sourced- a lot of it from his vegetable patch. The Spanish lessons were fun and varied, some in class room and some out in the local villages. We spoke Spanish within the group most of the day - and generally lapsed into English over dinner with a glass of wine in hand! I particularly enjoyed our excursions with Lucy - her knowledge and passion about the local culture and geology was infectious. A particular highlight was a short evening hike to a local village, examining the fossils and geology on route, then chatting in Spanish to local residents who showed us around their homes, church and community hall/school/blacksmiths. A unique experience.
I feel this week has improved my Spanish, and my understanding of the local culture and geology.

We had a fantastic week snowshoeing and walking. The guides enthusiasm for the area shone through with interesting information about the local geology, wildlife, and social history. Comfortable accommodation, with lovely food, provided in an environmentally responsibly way.
Thourly recommended as a great way to explore the Pyrenees.

What can I say. The whole experience was fantastic. Simon and Lucy make you really welcome in their home. It is not a hotel it is a home.
The food should be served in the smartest of restaurants, exceptional every day.
The farmhouse is beautiful and the accommodation is everything you would want and more. All mod cons in a lovely historic setting.
The wildlife is exceptional and the use of local experts to act as guides is a real bonus. They were all so knowledgeable and enthusiastic you couldn't help be excited.
This holiday is an absolute treat. No one could possibly be disappointed.
Thanks Simon and Lucy for a fantastic experience

I haven't got enough positive adjectives for our trip to Casa Allue! Albella and all the surrounding areas that Lucy and Simon showed us were so lovely. The mountain views and rivers were beautiful. I travelled with my mum and we both found it really restful for the soul being in nature, learning a lot about the local history and landscape. The hosts Lucy and Simon were so kind, knowledgeable and attentive to the group. Although it was an action packed trip, the itinerary had been thought through really carefully to blend walking, cultural trips and cooking classes. Perfect weather in late April (think we might have been a bit lucky with that one!). I made some new friends in the other people we met on the trip, and am sure to visit the Spanish Pyrenees again soon. Thank you!
